On Thursday, April 26, 2018 C.I.A. Director, Mike Pompeo was sworn in as the United States' 70th Secretary of State, elevating the current C.I.A Director to be the nation’s top diplomat.
Mike Pompeo was born in Orange, California. He graduated from Los Amigos High School in Fountain Valley, Class of 1982. As a teenager, he enrolled at the United States Military Academy at West Point. He graduated first in his class from West Point in 1986 and then served as a cavalry officer. After leaving active duty, Mike graduated from Harvard Law School in 1994. Mike Pomeo later returned to his mother’s family roots in South Central Kansas and founded Thayer Aerospace, where he served as CEO for more than a decade providing components for commercial and military aircraft. He later then became a 4-term Kansas congressman.
In January 2017, Mike Pompeo was confirmed as the C.I.A. Director under the Trump Administration.
